April 1

Scott Stevens

Let's meet todays birthday boy.

Oops, not that way.

Inducted HHOF 2007.
Born 1 April 1964
Kitchener, Ontario.
Played 22 NHL seasons
from 1982 to 2004.
Drafted by the Washington Capitals in the 1st round (5th overall) of the 1982 NHL Entry Draft.
In 1635 regular season games, Stevens collected 196 goals and 712 assists for 908 points, impressive for a defensive specialist. Equally impressive were the 2785 penalty minutes Scott earned.

These were obtained in person during the 1991 Canada Cup held in Hamilton at Copps Coliseum. The thing I remember most was his wife Donna. Enough said.

  1. ...and this is where I try and talk you into giving me one of those 86-87 cards. I mean, it's not like you need both the OPC *and* the Topps version :)

I went to a Canada Cup exhibition game, Chicago Stadium in 1991. USA vs. Canada. Will blog about it this fall.
