Found some cards for todays birthday.

Selected by Montreal Canadiens round 5 #66 overall 1970 NHL Amateur Draft.

Rick Wilson got his first chance to play in the NHL in 1973 at the age of 23 with the Montreal Canadiens. Wilson moved on to the St. Louis Blues, where he played two full seasons. In the first year he suited up for 76 games, scoring two goals and five assists with 83 penalty minutes. He appeared in 65 games in 1975-76, scoring a goal and six assists with 20 minutes in penalties. Yesterday's references to Wayne Gretzky were made pertaining to THE TRADE 23 years ago.

In the photo above, Wayne Gretzky wipes a tear from his eye as then-Los Angeles Kings’ owner Bruce McNall looks on during an Aug. 9, 1983 press conference to announce Gretzky had been traded from the Edmonton Oilers to the Kings. The trade, the biggest in National Hockey League history, was a shocker at the time, but its repercussions are still being felt today. One of the biggest effects was the impact it had on the growth of hockey in Southern California, one that has led to the development of many top-level players from the area, including Emerson Etem (centre, photo below), a Long Beach native selected in the first round of the 2010 NHL draft by the Anaheim Ducks. — Photo above by the Canadian Press/file/ Photo below by The Associated Press

Kind of chokes me up too.

Thanks to fuji at http://sanjosefuji.blogspot.com/ for the Stadium Club Master Photos I won in his annual contest.

Speaking of contests, check out these two.

Some photos from my last visit to the HHOF.

Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender James Reimer will appear at the Hockey Hall of Fame's new and expanded Spirit of Hockey store for an autograph signing.
