After a four-year junior career, Beaudin signed with the Montreal Canadiens organization.
He played1963 with their farm team in Hull-Ottawa. The following year saw him claimed in the waiver draft by the Detroit Red Wings organization, where he spent the next four seasons, mostly with their Pittsburgh Hornets and Memphis Wings farm teams. In 1967, he was claimed by the Blues in the expansion draft, and made his NHL debut in that season, while spending most of the season with the Blues' Kansas City affiliate. He was loaned to the American Hockey League Buffalo Bisons in 1968, and subsequently played the next three seasons for the Cleveland Barons of the AHL. In that time, his rights were traded to the North Stars, for whom he played 12 games in the 1971 season.
He was the first player signed by the WHA Winnipeg Jets when the franchise came into being in 1972. The signing was not made public for fear of a public backlash over making a longtime minor leaguer their first signing. Beaudin's signing was finally announced following the signings of goaltenders Ernie Wakely and Joe Daley.
Norm capped off a stellar run with the Jets when he was an Assistant Captain in 1976, the year they won their first of three Avco Cup Championships.Following the 1975-1976 season, he moved on and finished his playing career in Switzerland.

Beaudin finished his WHA career with 97 goals and 155 assists for 252 points in 309 games, adding 37 points in 31 playoff games. He also had one goal and two assists in 25 NHL games.

Received these blue ink signed cards TTM. He also added his number to his signature.
